BIOGRAPHY:
The Milano based quintet The Disgrazia Legend has been compared to bands like Playing Enemy, Unsane, Breather Resist, Will Haven, Breach, Botch, Majority Rule, Training For Utopia, Drowningman, Anodyne and Since By Man.
Though, since forming in 2003 from the ashes of the hardcore band Onetruth, TDL has aimed to pound out a unique stamp in the music landscape playing an amalgamation of noisecore and punk-rock with a subtle spacey/paranoid atmosphere.
Drawing from influences including acclaimed staples Neurosis, Helmet, Unsane, Isis & Quicksand to outstanding spacey/psychedelic and sclerotic acts like Sonic Youth, Shellac, Colossamite & The Flying Luttenbachers, without lacking to show their own hardcore and noise touch.
The sound comes complete with introspective and honest lyrics to touch everyone's mind and soul... hopefully.
The band remains true to their punk roots as well, by focusing a strong light on politics and society with sincerity and a generous dose of sarcasm and irony, along with exposing an inner light in their own personal quest for fullfillment and reason in life within this crazy hectic world.
At the end of 2004 TDL entered AlphaOmega studio in Como, to work with Alex Azzali (Metalblade records and others), the 4 songs recorded are the band's contribute to an 8 songs split cd with
THE DEADLY (from Philadelphia, with members of
TURMOIL), out then on Hurry Up! records (italy), All Life Ends records (Germany) and Desertion records (France).
At the end of the recording session Giorgio left the drums spot and Carlo took his place after some months of endless research. Then again, during december 2k5 Riccardo joined the band as the new base player and Andrea quit on good terms to focus on his other projects.
Therefore, after years spent looking for people willing to be part of a full-time band, TDL was finally able to tour and stay on the road as much as possible, things were coming along pretty good and the line-up was getting tight and solid.
The band completed 3 different tours around europe in June, July and November/December 2006 and then focused on writing new material.
A new 3-songs demo has been recorded at Tray studio on April 4th and 5th 2007 with the aim to spread it to lables and promoters, in order to find the right people to cooperate with for the release of the first album and the subsequent live activity and promotion.
At the end of the same month, before leaving for the spring tour, Tado joined the band as the new base player, while Riccardo switched to the second guitar spot in order to open a new dimension to the band's natural inclination towards complex structures and atmospheric arrangements.
With this line-up new songs have been written and undergoing arrangements in order to be ready to record a new album (7/8 songs) in late winter.
Unfortunately Carlo was forced to leave the band in the summer of 2007, due to the lack of time to dedicate to live dates and future recordings, the music school and his acclaimed and upcoming percussion group seemed to be the most reasonable path to focus on for his career and the rest of the band totally supported his choice with no hard feelings. Expecially after he was invited to fly to Moscow to play at a festival including PRINCE among the others.
Guido, a friend of the band, was free at the moment and the best drummer around, so TDL were happy to invite him to join the gang and get involved in the writing process of the new album.
TDL are now looking for labels interested in a solid cooperation to release their new material and spread their sound, staying on the road more often through the entire year, the new line-up has already played in italy and France and Germany and the band is booking tour around europe in spring and through the summer.
TDL played with: Zao, Majority Rule, Norma Jean, Stretch Arm Strong, Walls Of Jericho, Evergreen Terrace, The Smackdown, Coliseum, Intronaut, The Ocean, Fifth Hour Hero, Ultra Dolphins, Yaphet Kotto, Cable Car Theory, Colligere , Sinai Beach, Count Me Out, Undying, Destiny, Deluge, The Spirit That Guides Us, The Miracle, The Secret, 25talife, Today Forever, Brandtson, Extinction of Mankind, Nothing Gold Can Stay, Rise & Fall, Another Breath, xRisenx and more and more..
And visited the following countries: Italy, Switzerland, Austria, France, Belgium, Holland, Germany, Luxemburg, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Lithuania, Estonia, Latvia and Finland.
